Use guides as a design aid.

• Activate the option "Rulers/Auxiliary lines" under settings
• Rulers now appear on the top edge and on the left side of the design area
• You can create new guides by dragging horizontal and vertical lines from the ruler areas with the mouse
• With a double click you can also enter the position of a guide line in the page overview as a number in millimetres
